WHAT ARE SOME DISADVANTAGES TO LIVING IN TUSCANY, CALGARY?

Tuscany is one of the better and more popular neighbourhoods in Calgary, but there are some minor annoyances with living in the area.

  • Tuscany is located about 20km away from downtown Calgary so it requires a bit of a commute.
  • The Tuscany C-Train station isn’t in a convenient location being so far towards the north end of the neighbourhood along Crowchild Trail. It’s a massive neighbourhood and it would take you about 45 minutes to walk from the south end of Tuscany to the train station. I think the station should have been located in the market square.
  • I personally find it easy to miss the turnoff going southbound on Stoney Trail to Tuscany Blvd because you start the merge well in advance and if you’re not paying attention you can miss it. If you miss it you have to go all the way to Valley Ridge and turn around which is time consuming.
  • While there are plenty of dining options in Tuscany Market and Crowfoot Crossing, I find they are just your typical big box chain stores. The area could use some more original stores, but this is a problem in all Calgary suburbs.
  • Tuscany is an above average to expensive neighbourhood in the city. With an average price of single family home close to $800,000, the area has gotten quite expensive.

IN SUMMARY: IS TUSCANY THE BEST NEIGHBOURHOOD IN CALGARY?
